Mrs. Eva Barnes, 77, of R. 1 Okemos, died Tuesday afternoon at a local hospital after a long illness.

She had lived in Okemos and vicinity all her life and was a member of the Women's Pioneer Society of Okemos. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last March 16.

Surviving besides the husband, Archie, are a son, Myron W. of East Lansing; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Dillon of Providence, RI, and Mrs. Pearl Smith of Lakeland, Fla., and a brother, Fred Hoskins of Lansing.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday at Estes-Leadly Colonial chapel, Rev. Harold Rees, of the Williamston Baptist church officiating. Burial will be in Rose cemetery, Clinton County.
