 In the 1880 census for township 18 n. range 9 west, Cass Co., Illinois, Joseph Zirkle is 26 IL, farmer; with wife Eunice 22 IL; and sons John 4 and Walter 2 -- all born IL, parents same. {Page 654B}
 In the 1900 census for Kilbourne, Mason Co., Illinois, Joseph Zirkle is 50 born Nov 1849 Illinois (father Virginia, mother IL), farmer, married 25 years; with wife Unice 43 born Feb 1857 IL (mother Illinois, father Missouri), with 3 of 5 children living, sons are Walter 22 and William 19. {ed 60, sh 2a, p. 271, roll 328 HeritageQuest} Their son John is living with her half-brother Edward.
 All four are together in Kilbourne in 1910 and 1920.
