1889 - Baptism: Ethel, daughter of William & Sarah Ann SARE, South Lopham, born Apr 8, 1888. Joint baptism with four sisters and William. 1891 - With parents at the Grocer's Shop in the Street, South Lopham, aged 3. 1898 - Buried, aged 10, of South Lopham. Recorded as the daughter of William SARE. Ethel's gravestone is sandstone, and its inscription, from a transcription made by the Women's Institute, reads: In loving memory of/ ETHEL SARE/ who departed this life/ December 27th 1898/ aged 10 years./ For Jesus said "Suffer the little/ ones to come to me."/ While she has gained, we losers are/ We miss her day by day./ But thou canst every breach repair/ And wipe our tears away. The footstone, also sandstone, reads: E. S / 1898. |
