At Amity, N. Y., Dec. 16th, 1875, of cancer in the stomach, Ethan Rogers, in the 69th year of his are. Brother Rogers was born in the town of DeRuyter, N. Y. He removed with his parents to Allegany county when he was about seven years of age. He professed religion in early life, and when the Seventh-day Baptist Church of Amity was constituted, in 1834, he was one of its constituent members. Brother Rogers was a man that said but little in public, but was usually very tender upon the subject of religion, and in latter years expressed a deeper interest in the cause, and a determination to try to live more faithful to his former vows, and I trust he has gone to join the church triumphant.
