From Lillian Margaret Barrow, Keller family reasearcher (For the Stephens/Davis Family):

"8.Esther Keller by 1765 had married Alexander Stockslager. They bought and sold land in Manor Twp., Lancaster Co., Pa. in 1765 and sold more in 1767. In 1769 they bought land in Frederick Co., Va., near Strasburg and now in Shenandoah Co., Va. Alexander Stockslager was in a militia list there in 1775. He died before Sept. 24, 1778. The name of Esther Stockslager is in the 1783 census of Shenandoah Co. with 8 persons in the household. She married 2nd, Joel Reese on July 3, 1783. He died by Oct. 1787. He had also been married before and had other children besides Esther's. His children received land in Kentucky because he served in an Army campaign in 1775.

"While Esther lived at some distance from several in her family, there are several records to prove her connection with them. She owed the estate of George Keller, mentioned above as her father's cousin. She owned land in Clark Co., Indiana, where her brother Daniel and other relatives lived. She is also mentioned in the estate records of Jacob Brookhart, husband of her sister Catharine, in Jefferson Co., Kentucky. Esther Reese left a will dated Sept. 19, 1818 and probated Oct. 12, 1818 in Shenandoah Co., Virginia."

From Janet Ariciu, monkey@@getgoin.net on the internet: "Esther, born 1728 Weiler, Germany, died 1819 Shenandoah co., Va., m. Alex. Stockslager, moved to Old Fredericks Co., Va. in 1769." Perhaps Carl was married first in Germany, then married second after bringing his daughter to America?
