Gerke, 47, died Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at his residence, 516 Oakdale drive, following an illness of several weeks. he was president of the Becker Grocery and Dry Goods company, Fairfield avenue. He was born in Fort Wayne, residing all is life in this city. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Gerke; three sisters, Mrs. John Lang, Mrs. Ed Scheumann, and Mrs. Frank Sherbondy, all of this city. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran church, Walther league and B.U.V. Funeral services will be held at the residence Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, rev. Fred Wambsganns officiating. Burial in Concordia.” |
