Facts and Events
{geni:occupation} barber {geni:about_me} Ernest's 1st wife and child died as a result of the influenza epidemic in 1918. Ernest had a stepmother after his mother, Jennie Sparks Baldridge, died. Lucretia Rice Music Baldridge was said to have been a most kind and caring mom to the 9 little children that were Ernest's siblings. His father, Zacky Baldridge, fathered 6 more children with Lou, bringing their total to 15 - 17 if you include the 2 daughters that Lou brought to the marriage by her 1st husband. Ernest always said there couldn't have been a more wonderful, loving mother to take care of them all. Ernest was inducted into the U.S. Army in about 1917, but didn't serve any real time there during the 1st World War. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer during his first weeks in the Army and was discharged without having seen any action. I have applied to the gov't for his military papers but they are unable to find them. The Baldridges were a very large family in Floyd and surrounding counties! {geni:hair_color} Brown {geni:eye_color} Blue {geni:height_1} 5 feet {geni:height_2} 6 inches References
