Ephraim's father d. Jan. 22, 1814, and if Ephraim was the 11th child, he was probably b. ca. 1810 or ca. 1812, and therefore about age 47 to 49 when he died, assuming the 1859 date was read and transcribed correctly. However, another record has that Ephraim d. in 1849 which is likely the correct date based on his age of 39 years, and b. ca. 1810. Also note that his presumed son, Marion, was with Ephraim's family in the 1850 Hamilton Co., OH, census. We have long struggled to identify Marion's relationship to this family, and Ephraim appears to be the only possibility for Marion's father.

Ephraim Jones was born in 1812. He was the son of Joseph Jones and Mary Covalt. Ephraim Jones died in 1849. --Nancy Ranck <nranck@@escapees.com>, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~nranck/colt-p/p370.htm#i1056

"Ephram Jones was born Feb. 4th." His gravestone suggests he was b. ca. 1810, but an online record has that he was b. in 1812. Given the dates of birth of Elizabeth and Sidney, 1812 seems to be a better choice than does 1810; Ephraim was the 11th child
