"Ephraim JACKSON, born in October 1704 in Fairfield, (possibly, within the present limits of the Town of Redding). He was a member of the committee to locate the meeting house in Redding 17 January 1750. Thirteen years later, he was on a committee to locate pews in said meeting house, and was elected selectman at the first town meeting of the town, 15 June 1767. He married (2) in June 1730 Martha Blackman, born October 1708."

It is believed that Dorothy was the dau. of John Blackman who in 1744 was the wife of William Williams of Cortlandt, N. Y.; this Dorothy was sister of Martha Blackman, the wife of Ephraim Jackson."
