Pg. 251 - This indenture made this 22nd day of August One Thousand Eight Hundred between Ephraim Clark, Jun'r of the State of Tennessee, Montgomery County, Eldest son of Ephraim Clark, Sen'r formerly of Elizabeth Town and the State of East Jersey of the one part and John Clark of the the State of Kentucky, Christian County of the other part witnesseth that I the said Ephraim Clark, Jun'r hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell, alien, remise, convey and convirm and assign over all my rite and title to a house and lott and Salt Meadow in the East Jersey State and Town of Elizabeth that was left to my mother Elizabeth Lyon alias Clark, the wife of the aforesaid Ephraim Clark, Sen'r, and the heirs of her body by (Capt) Ebenezer Lyon by his last will and testament and recorded in the clerks office of Amboy and all other legacies heirship emoluments or dues of any kind left or owing to me in said East Jersey State for a certain sum of money to me in hand paid by the aoresaid John Clark the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, I do hereby warrent and forever defend the afore house and lott, and Salt Meadow, legacies, heirship, Emoluments and dues as aforesaid from myself my heirs Executors, administrators or assigns and from all and every person and manner of persons whatsoever claiming under me signed sealed and delivered in the presents of us the under subscribing witnesses, day and date above written.
