Emmett Campbell and Aura Dorman knew each other from being neighbors. Aura delivered meals to Emmett and family when one of Emmett's sons had polio, a contagious and frightening disease. Aura would take the meal to about the half-way point between the two homes and someone from Emmett's home would go retrieve it. Emmett's first wife, Jennie (Mary Jane), died 1925. The photos of Emmett and his horses, and with his car, were taken in 1926, the year after his wife, Jennie died. The photos were taken by one of their children, since Emmett is labeled as 'Dad' in the photo album.
