Personal History

Emma Nehls Quass died 13 Jan 1991, in a nursing home in Sumner, Fayette, Iowa. Her funeral service was held in the Methodist Church in Olewein, Buchanan, Iowa on 19 Jan 1991 and she was buried following the service with a funeral procession to Independence, Buchanan, Iowa. The first Gulf War broke out on the evening of 18 Jan 1991, (the 19th Jan in Iraq) as Ken Q. was driving to attend teh funeral the next morning.
