Granddaughter of Richard Knight and Rebecca Brayton, his wife. Gr.-granddaughter of Deacon Stephen Knight and Mary Manchester, his wife. Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Matthew Manchester and Freelove Gorton, his wife. Matthew Manchester (1720-1801), a captain in the early [p.286] wars, served on the Committee of Inspection during the Revolution. He was born at Tiverton, and died at Cranston.
