From Dan Buchanan's notes, On May 24, 1859, when the family arrived at Ingoldsby Narrows, Willet John was fifteen, his brother Benjamin Franklin twenty, Isaac thirteen, Harriet ten, Emerson eight, Sarah six and Charles two. The settlement which sprang up on both sides of the primitive bridge was known as Austin Narrows.
