Enoch and Isiah, Emarilla's husbands, were brothers. In the 1880 Ohio Census, Isah's children were listed as living with Enoch. She was living with her son George and his family in Vermillion at the time of the 1900 census. She had 9 children, all of whom lived until at least 1900.

Her father's name was Elijah Minkler.

Emarilla remarried sometime after Enoch's death - she is not found on the census despite a determined search, presumably because of a name change.
