    Rev. Elvero Greenleaf Persons, LL. B., and D.D., of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Dr. Persons was graduated from the Law Department of the Michigan University (Ann Arbor), 1868, with the degree of LL. B. Entered the ministry, (North Ohio Conference) as above, 1868. Ohio Wesleian University conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity, 1894. He has served churches in Ohio as follows: Tiffin, Sandusky, Bellevue, Norwalk, Ashland, Mt. Vernon, Wooster, Norwalk (again), Gallon, Delaware, Tiffin (again), Berea, Mt. Gilead, and Plymouth, Richland Co., 0H, his residence in 1906. He enlisted in the 18th Mich. Vol's Aug. 22, 1862. Was 1st Lieut, on staff of General A. L. Chetlain; Cap. 14th Colored Infantry, 1865-6; Judge Advocate in the Dept. of Tenn., 1865-6. He was Presiding Elder of Wooster District, 1883-7; Mansfield District, 1894-1900; delegate to the General Conference of 1888 held in New York City.
