 In the 1930 census for West Orange, ward 5, Essex Co., New Jersey, Malcolm Thorne is 35 born New Jersey (father New Jersey, mother 'Irish Free State'), 'chaffeur - bus co'; with wife Elsie R. 32 NJ; children Elsie E. 5 1/2; Malcolm 3 8/12 and Norman 6 months -- all born New Jersey.  [Mother-in-law] Elizabeth Frobose is 52 born New Jersey (father Massachusetts, mother 'Irish Free State'), 'practical nurse - private home', divorced; with daughter Dorothy L. 17 NJ (parents same), 'clerk - notions co.'.
