Elmer L. Jensen passed away at home on September 28, 2010 at the age of 87.
Elmer was born of Danish immigrants, Laurits and Margaret Jensen, on December 16, 1922 in Oak Harbor, Washington. He graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1941.
In 1947 Elmer married AnnaBell Crumrine of Bay View. Working together side by side they raised 2 children, Michael and Linda while dairy farming and growing peas on the Samish flats for 25 years.
Elmer and AnnaBell enjoyed traveling and fishing at Conconully Lake and Loon Lake in Canada with the family, especially his grandkids, they were very special to him.
Elmer belonged to the Back County Horsemen Club and enjoyed taking any one that he could get to go riding with him, both family and friends.
Elmer was a loving son, brother, husband, father, wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather and we will all miss him.
He is survived by his wife, AnnaBell; son, Michael (wife, Cathy); daughter, Linda (husband, Craig) Mitcham; 5 grandchildren, Sandy (Ed) Smith, Shelly (Jason) Gwin, Annie (Darron) Drake, Jeff (Anita) Mitcham, Jenni (Dave) Belisle; 9 great-grandchildren, AnnaBell and Janessa Belisle, Rachel, Karris, Malorie Drake, Jacob and Kaytlen Gwin, Chandler and Kyla Mitcham. Also surviving are 1 brother, Ray Jensen (Alice); sister, Dorothy Cunningham; 1 sister-in-law, Ruth; and 1 brother-in-law, Roy Pittman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Harry, Kenneth and Stan; and 1 sister, Anne Pittman.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Allen United Methodist Church, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2:00.
