Very little is known about Elizabeth. She was a homemaker and had seven children with Carl Frank Kaehler. The only surviving photo of her does not show her face. Elizabeth died at age 55.

Her parents' names are unknown. The 1920 U.S. Census states that Elizabeth's father was born in England and her mother in Germany. She was born into the Catholic faith but married into a Protestant family.
