    In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Sperry of Laverton in the parish of Buckland in the County of Gloucester Widow being of sound & disposing Mind Memory & understanding do make & publish this my last Will & Testament in manner & Form following (that is to say) First I give devise & bequeath unto my Son James Sperry All that Messuage or Tenement Garden Orchard & other the premises situate in Laverton aforesaid now in the Tenure of John Stait & Joan Warren And also all that piece or parcel of Land situate in the said parish of Buckland now in the Tenure or Occupation of Thomas Fisher containing sixty Acres be the same (more or less) which was allotted unto James Sperry deceased by the Commissioners appointed for the dividing & inclosing the open & common Fields of Buckland aforesaid in lieu & in compensation of a living called or known by the Name of Godfreys living to hold the same unto my said Son James Sperry his Ex[ecut]ors Adm[inistrat]ors & Assigns for & during the lives that are therein or for such other term or Interest I have in or to the same Also I given unto my said Son James Sperry the Sum of Six hundred and forty two pounds which was advanced under the said Act of Parliament for enclosing the said Common Fields of Buckland Also I give unto William Smith of Broadway in the County of Worcester Surgeon the Sum of fifty pounds Also I give unto my Brother Thomas Whitford the Sum of twenty pounds. Also I give unto my Brother Benjamin Whitford the Sum of Ten pounds Also I give unto Ann the the Wife of my Brother Benjamin the like sum of Ten pounds which Legacies I order to be paid by my Ex[ecut]or hereinafter named at the Expiration of one Month after my decease Also I give devise and bequeath all that my house & premises situate in Great Mary le bone Street in the parish of Great Mary le bone in the City of London between my said son James Sperry my daughter Mary Ann Smith & my daughter Elizabeth Sperry to hold to them their heirs & Assigns as Tenants in Common & I do hereby order & direct that my Daughter Mary Ann Smith’s Share of the said house & premises shall be to her sole & separate use without the Intermedling or Control of her present or any future husband Also I do hereby further order & direct that my Grandson Thomas Smith and my Grandaughters Harriet & Elizabeth Smith shall have the Rents & profits of my said House & Premises in Great Mary le Bone for the Term of one year after my decease to & for their own use and benefit Also I give unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Sperry all the Money that shall remain in the three p[er]cent Consols from and immediately after my decease Also I give unto my said Son James Sperry the Silver [ware?] half a [Iozar?] of large Table Spoons & Silver Cannister the large Chest upon Chest the [Collact?] & the large round Mahogany Dining Table Also I give unto my said daughter Mary Ann Smith the two light Table Spoons & Soup Ladle Also I give unto my said daughter Elizabeth the pair of Silver Candlesticks Shuger Basket two pair of Silver Salts & Two Butter Boats All the Rest & Residue of my household Goods Ready Money and other my Estate & Effects whatsoever I give & bequeath unto my said Son James Sperry my Daughter Mary Ann Smith & my Daughter Elizabeth Sperry equally to be divided between them share & share alike as Tenants in Common Subject to the payment of my just Debts Legacies & Funeral Expenses And Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute & appoint my said Son James Sperry sole Ex[ecut]or of this my Will hereby revoking all former & other Wills by me hereunto made In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 10th day of January in the Year of our Lord 1804 – E.     3rd Day of November 1811

    Appeared personally Robert Boyce of Laverton in the parish of Buckland in the County of Gloucester Attorney one of the subscribing Witnesses named in the last Will & Testament of Elizabeth Sperry late of the same place Parish & County Widow deceased hereunto annexed beginning thus “In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Sperry of Laverton in the Parish of Buckland in the County of Gloucester Widow” ending thus “In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this tenth day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four subscribed “E Sperry” And having now carefully viewed & perused the paper writing beginning ending & subscribed as aforesaid & the word “Grandson” written on an Erazure on the eighteenth line from the Top of the second sheet of the said Will & also the words “And my Grandaughters” Also written on an Erasure on the nineteenth Line from the Top of the same Sheet of the said Will This Deponent saith that the Alterations so appearing on Erasures as aforesaid were made prior to the Execution of the said Will to which he hath subscribed his Name And further that the same is in the same State plight & Condition as when it was executed by the said Elizabeth Sperry the said Testatrix – Robt Boyce – Same day the said Robert Boyce was duly sworn to the Truth of this Affidavit Before me – Richd Collier a Commissioner.

    Proved at London 6th November 1811 before the Judge, by the Oath of James Sperry the Son & Sole Ex[ecut]or to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted having been first sworn by Com[missi]on duly to administer.
