Elizabeth Wells Skaggs was the daughter
of Samuel and Anna Hamilton Wells and granddaughter of Phillip and Elizabeth
Wells. My records say that Elizabeth Wells Skaggs was born on 17 Oct., 1794
and married on 2 April, 1811 in Hardin County, KY. They were married by
Lewis Wells, who was her uncle (and was married to Martha Hamilton, her aunt).
Oddly, Elizabeth Wells Skaggs had another aunt named Elizabeth Wells who was
married to William Skaggs, the brother of her husband Richard Skaggs.
