Citing the will of John Adcocke: 'Other relatives to whom bequests were made included ... grandchild Elizabeth Sutton, ...'
The naming of granddaughter Elizabeth Sutton in the will of John Adcocke is one of the arguments used for identifying Julian Adcocke as the wife of John Sutton. Since she is (apparently) the only Sutton named in Adcocke's will, she might have stayed in England when the others emigrated, and thus is likely the eldest child. Alternately, Adcocke's granddaughter Elizabeth Sutton could have have been the daughter of one of Adcocke's other children, with Sutton being her married name.
