Elizabeth is the daughter of Henry Sprenkle & Mary. Elizabeth accompanied her widowed mother and her siblings from Virginia to Highland Co., OH between 1816-1820. On 11 Sept 1820, she married Israel Folsom Wirt. Israel was the "boy next door," as the Conrad "Worts" family was enumerated on the 1820 Census just after the Mary Sprinkle family.

Elizabeth & Israel had 12 children: James, Eliza (Windowmaker), John, Nancy (Boots), William, Mary (Wood), George, Sarah (Willey),Israel, Henry, Noah & Ellen (Ingle). The family moved from Highland Co., OH to Randolph Co., IN about 1836.

According to information at the Randolph Co. Historical Society, an old transcription of Elizabeth's tombstone indicates that the tombstone is inscribed: died Aug 23, 1874, age 71Y-6M-4D and that Elizabeth's information is on the north side of the tombstone and Israel's on the south side; the west side shows "Farewell Mother & Father."

Note that calculating Elizabeth's date of birth from the tombstone transcription information suggests a birth of 19 Feb 1803, different from the 19 Jan 1804 date of birth in family records.
