    Elizabeth "Betty" Smith Feather Becherer, 88, 211 Euclid Ave.,died Friday, March 1, 1996, at Hamot Medical Center.

    She was born in Johnstown, Pa., April 28, 1907, daughter of the late Harry and Amanda Ober Smith.

    She had lived in Erie since 1960. She was a member of Eastminster United Presbyterian Church. She had attended Millersville State College and took many courses in music in various colleges in Pennsylvania.

    She had taught music for many years at her residence and for 12 years at Winter Piano and Organ Co. and two years at the Rugere Music
    Store. She was a member of the Erie Music Teachers Association, and was an active member of the Erie Philharmonic Assoc.

    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Feather; three brothers, Arden, Joseph and Charles Smith; and one sister, Florence Nickel.

    Survivors include her husband, Calvin Becherer; two daughters, Eva Jean Clarke of Seattle, Wash. and Ardeth Alessi of Jamestown, N.Y.

    Private burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown, N.Y.
