Jacob Moyer was born 1771 in Botetourt, Virginia, and died Bef. 1857 in Iron County, Missouri. He married Elizabeth Russell, daughter of Joseph Russell and Margaret Campbell. She was born about 1785 in Virginia, removed about 1800 with her parents and siblings to Hawkins County, Tennessee. There she married Jacob Moyer and began their family. They were in the Caledonia area of Washington County, Missouri by 1818, and settled on a farm in Belleview. On May 15, 1818 Jacob purchased a lot in the City of Caledonia. Both Jacob and Elizabeth Russell Moyer were buried in the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery in Caledonia (no dates on stones or in records). Children were:

  • Mary (1808-1893) married Palmer Breckenridge Oct. 5, 1826 in Washington County, Missouri, and Robert Sloan after 1845.
  • Margaret (1810-1889) married Hugh K. Hughes Feb. 28, 1836 in Washington County, Missouri, and Nathaniel Highley April 5, 1852.
  • William Russell (1812-1989) married Susan Elizabeth Rice Nov. 28, 1837 in Tennessee.
  • Joseph Campbell (1814-1888) married Virginia Kirkpatrick July 29, 1847.
  • Elizabeth Ann (1817-1899) married Capt. John Jamison Nov. 24, 1839.
  • Angeline Rebecca (1822-1902) married Benjamine Baker about 1850 in Washington County, Missouri, Harrison Sweeney Jan. 28, 1858, and Samuel Jefferson Rawlins Aug. 8, 1863.
  • Martha Jane (1824-) married Jeremiah Roberts.
  • John (1826-).
  • Benjamine Franklin (1833-bef 1875).
