Alexander married Elizabeth Rice on 16 Nov 1809 in Roane County, Tenn. She was the daughter of John Rice. Alexander and his family moved with his sister Elizabeth Moyer and her family to Belleview in Washington County, Missouri in 1818. [Sources: Karen Carty, a descendant of the Moyers; the marriage is indexed on familysearch.org.] Bellevue, Beautiful View, p 8 (submitted by Betty Russell): "Alexander and Elizabeth Russell built their two story Federalist style architecture home in 1826 on the Belleview land bought from Robert Reed, an old settler of Belleview. The bricks for the home were made from the clay soil by their slaves. The cabins built for the slaves have long since disappeared although the home still stands (just north of Hwy 32 Junction on Hwy 21) having been unoccupied since about 1852."
