Parentage

1 Aug 1655: Administration of the estate of Mrs. Elizabeth Pitts granted to William and Elizabeth Holbrook. Their accounting includes charging for caring for “My mother Mrs. Pitts” during illness. The inventory of the estate of Mrs. Elizabeth Pitts, deceased at Weymouth, is complied by Samuel Packard, John Whitmarsh, Thomas Bayley and James Nash [Whitmarsh and Nash are likely cousins of William Holbrook through is brother John]. (NEHGR 9:135).

Please note she was not the daughter of William Pitts, who was still alive at the time Elizabeth Pitts died. Her father is unknown.

   Capt. William Holbrook m. (1) Elizabeth, daughter of widow Elizabeth Pitts [i.e., don't really know how many marriages Mrs. Pitts had, so not sure if daughter's maiden name is Pitts], d. bef 9 Sep 1696 when he made a will naming his second wife Abigail.
