Approved 19 Feb 1754/55 petition of "Cornelius Putnam Administ'r of the Estate of William Perkins dec'd and Elizabeth Putnam Relict of the said William & now Wife of the said Cornelius, and of Cornelius Putnam jun'r & Elizabeth his Wife, Daughter of the said William ..."
Usually Elizabeth's mother is said to be Elizabeth Nelson, but as Elizabeth Nelson did not marry William Perkins until 1734, and apparently did not have a daughter Elizabeth born until 1739, that Elizabeth wasn't old enough to marry in 1753. On the other hand, Elizabeth Towne, who married a William Perkins in 1731/2, had a daughter Elizabeth baptized May 1734, who would have been old enough to marry in 1753. That the 1734 Elizabeth belongs to this couple is shown by the "Jr." following her father's name, matching the baptism of their son William in 1732.
