  2.   This page goes against most sources who believe the William Perkins that died in Sutton married Elizabeth Nelson. That is unlikely, if not impossible. The detailed logic explaining why it must have been the William Perkins who married Elizabeth Towne is explained on Which Widow Elizabeth Perkins Married Cornelius Putnam, and hence, why these children are placed in this family.
  3.   The identity of Elizabeth Towne is unsure. The Elizabeth b. 1711 to John Towne and Elizabeth Rae seems to be the only Elizabeth of an appropriate age.
