Death of Elizabeth was also confirmed by letter written by brother Henry in Canada back to his father in 1847 acknowledging the news received in a previous letter. This letter also mentions the death of sister Hannah, without a date or place.

Youngest daughter baptized exactly two months before burial of mother. Has one of these dates been mistranscribed? Death/burial of Anna Maria not found.

  3. Broughton is between Appleton le Street and Swinton and about 1 mile from Swinton. Broughton and Swinton are both townships in Appleton le Street parish. It is therefore the most likely place for burials of the Lyle family, but no memorial stones to the family were found in published lists nor in a walk through the cemetery.
