Appleton le Street is a small village in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 3 miles west of Malton and in the civil parish of Appleton le Street with Easthorpe.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Appleton le Street was located in Malton Rural District. Historically, it was an ecclesiastical parish in the Rydale Wapentake.

The ecclesiastical parish contained the hamlets and villages of Amotherby, Broughton (near Malton), Easthorpe or East Thorpe, Hildenley, Newsham and Swinton.
