Fowler Stoddard, 71, who passed away at her home in Oakwood, at 1:30 o’clock yesterday morning will be held in the chapel at Woodland cemetery, at 9 o’clock tomorrow morning. The burial service at which the Rev. Arthur Dumper will officiate, will be private. Mrs. Stoddard’s death came at the end of a period of nervous collapse, brought on by the death of her daughter, Miss Ethel Stoddard. Her condition did not become serious until four days ago.Mrs. Stoddard was a daughter of the late Colonel John G. Lowe, and was one of a family of seven children, two of whom survive her, Houston Lowe, president of the Lowe Brothers’ company, and Mrs. Mary Lowe Gaddis.Miss Ethel Stoddard whose death is thought to have affected the health of her mother, passed away about a year ago. One other daughter, Mrs. Pierce Schenck, survives. The father, E. Fowler Stoddard, has been dead for many years. Mrs. Stoddard was a woman of strong character, was a liberal giver and has always been known as a woman of extremely quiet and nurturing nature.
