"Cornet Nathaniel Hill served in King Philip's War under Capt. Wheeler, etc...served as a Selectman in Billerica in 1686-7. He moved to Chelmsford about 1689, where he voted on 13 May of that year to assist in King William's War. On 16 March 1692, he was put in charge of a garrison of seven men. In 1695 he was called a landford or innkeeper, and on 26 January 1696 attended a court of assizes at Charlestown in a case against Edward Spaulding, Jr., who, on 25 November 1695, 'near the house of Cornet Hill,' assaulted Ezekiel Richardson with fatal results....etc." SOURCES: Donna Valley Russell, C.G., Gray Haven at Airview, 709 E.
