Elizabeth Wagner's husband Francis died in 1887. Elizabeth was living with her children in the 1900 US Federal Census, including two children who were born after Francis died. These two children, Elizabeth and Paul, both give their father as Charles Engel. There is no further data about Charles Engle.

Latrobe Bulletin, Saturday, October 3, 1947, p. 7: "Mrs. Elizabeth Freyer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Engel, of Derry, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louise Thayer, 815 Raymond Avenue, Latrobe, this morning.

She is survived by her husband, William Freyer, of Rochester Mills; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Thayer, of Latrobe, and one grand-daughter, Barbara Thayer. Three brothers and two sisters also survive.

Friends will be received at the Gosnell Funeral Home until 9:30 p.m. daily. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. from the funeral home in charge of the Rev. William F. McClain. Interment will be in Cole's cemetery."
