Elizabeth Cook was baptised on 20th January 1776 at Husborne Crawley in Bedfordshire, daughter of Elizabeth Cook, formerly Smyth, and her husband William Cook. In 1797 Elizabeth's mother died.

In 1811, when she was 35, Elizabeth had a daughter called Susannah baptised at Husborne Crawley.

In 1813 Elizabeth had another daughter, Sarah, baptised at Husborne Crawley. Sarah was baptised on 20th June 1813 and her baptism describes her as being the daughter of "James O'Dogharty" and Elizabeth Cook. Eight days later, on 28th June 1813, Elizabeth married James at Husborne Crawley. They have yet to traced after their marriage.
