http://www.hbg.psu.edu/hum/McCormick/othermcc/elizabethcarruth.htm Elizabeth Carruth McCormick Biography Elizabeth Carruth McCormick (b. 1705) was born in Ireland in 1705 and married Thomas McCormick (b. 1702) about 1726, in Ireland. He made the voyage to America along with his brother, Hugh, taking his wife with him. In 1745, the two McCormicks took out a warrant for 100 acres of land in Hanover Township, then Lancaster County, PA, next relocating west of the Susquehanna river, in East Pennsboro. Although no documents relating to Elizabeth and Thomas are represented in the McCormick papers, we include Elizabeth's biography here because Elizabeth and Thomas represent the McCormick family's first generation in America. Thomas and Elizabeth had children: Thomas, b. 1727, married Jean Oliver. James, William, born 1732, married Mary Wiggins. Hugh, born 1735, married Catherine Sanderson. Robert, born 1738, married Martha Sanderson. Elizabeth, born 1740, married Matthew Loudon. References
