- ↑ There is a phrase in the father's will of 1845 giving "my daughter Eliza Burnett and Alexander Burnett five dollars". This reads as if she married Alexander Burnett, since Alexander does not have his own relationship specified and the word "each" is not used, etc. Tax records show an Alexander Burnett lived in Geauga County as early as 1834, but nothing has been found in the 1850 census that can be identified as this couple. The accounting of the probate is somewhat ambiguous as payments mention Elizabeth Burnett without distinguishing if widow or daughter, so can't rule out that she and/or Alexander died between 1845 and 1850. An Alexander Burnett married in 1853 but this could be a son marrying, or her husband remarrying, or even an unrelated person. It might be presumed that Elizabeth would be the eldest daughter, since she is named after her mother.
