Eliza married Edmund Green in 1866 when both of them were over 30. The 1871 census lists her after Edmund's brother John and she is described as a servant. By 1881 they have moved to Tintwistle in Cheshire. The family still includes brother John Green as well as another John Green who is a cousin.

Edmund Green died in 1890 and by the 1891 census Eliza had moved her family back to Holme. By this time her elder daughter, Harriet, had married Ben Sykes, a member of yet another family of Holme. The younger daughter, Mary, had moved away from home and spent some time as a domestic servant near Huddersfield before marrying Alfred Tinker. They had eight children.

In 1901 Ben Sykes is considered the head of the family, but Eliza is still living with them. In 1911 she was living in Dalton, a suburb of Huddersfield. There is conflicting evidence as to when she died. On the tombstone she shares with Edmund, listed in Find a Grave, it is reported she died 7 Jan 1911, but the Civil Registration gives the quarter Oct-Nov-Dec 1918 at the age of 86.
