In Darien, Genesee Co., N. Y., November 2, 1862, Elisha C. Saunders, of fever and general consumption of the whole system, aged 73 years and 8 months. The deceased was born in Westerly, R. I., in 1789; professed faith in Christ in his youth united with the Seventh-day Baptist Church in Hopkinton, R. I., and maintained the faith he had professed until his Saviour took him to himself. The only thing that bound him to earth, he said, was his family. His widow is bereft of a kind husband, his children of an affectionate father, and his other relatives of an endeared friend, the community of a promised and worthy citizen. The subject of this notice removed from Rhode Island to Darien in 1812, when it was a wilderness, lived to see it transformed into good farms and villages, and to acquire a competence of this world's wealth.
