From Newcomb Genealogy page 177 Mr. Newcomb was a farmer, resided in Truro where his children were born. He was a man of enterprise, built a dwellinghouse, a flake yard and packing sheds on the beach, known as Newcomb's Point, where h e comenced the fish business in 1832. His sons were nearly all engaged in fishing in early life but later became farmers. After Elisha's death his widow lived with her children in Scarborough. |
