Abel Miller lived on the place where his grandfather, John Miller, lived. The place was sold to Solomon Deitz when (or before) his grandmother, Christena, died. He bought it and it is still owned by his son Lemuel, so it was out of the hands of John Miller's offspring but for a short while. Abel had two sons, three daughters.[BKDATA.GED]

Abel Miller was a confederate soldier who died in the Civil War. He is listed in civil war records as A.A.Miller. (It should have been E.A. Miller, but was given the first initial of "A" by mistake.)

Elisha Abel Miller was a farmer who lived on the John "Cow" place which he bought from Solomon Deitz about 1854, not long after Deitz bought it from Christina's estate.

Miller, Abel A., Private, Born in Catawba County and enlisted at Camp Vance in Co. H 28th Reg. NC Trooups on 24 February 1864 for the war. He died at Richmond, VA, or Lynchburg, VA, 2-6 May 1854 of "c(hronic) bronchitis."

I (Donald E. Beck) am sure this is Elisha Abel despite the name discrepancy. Funeral preached at Miller's Lutheran Church by Rev. P. C. Henkle on 3 July 1864 for Caleb Miller, Elisha A. Miller and Eli F. Rinck ... all died in Confederate Army.

Abel's granddaughter Londie Etta Miller Sites related to her children that he was buried at Appomattox. (from Mae Sites Yount)
