    180. V. 62. ELIJAH5 LYON [William,4 William,3 John,2 William1] was born in Woodstock, Conn., May 8, 1727, and died there Dec. 24, 1800. He married first, Nov. 26, 1747 (Fam. R.), Sarah Monger, who died June 8, 1748 (T.R.). There is record of a marriage of Elijah Lyon, Jan. 9, 1752 (Woodstock T. R.), to Elizabeth Meriam, of Mendon, but no children of "Elijah and Elizabeth" are recorded. On Nov. 2, 1777. Elijah married Mary Cross (Ch.R. Leicester, R.I.), and four sons blessed the union. Mary Cross was born in 1738, is said to have been "of Providence, R.I."; d. July 27, 1803 (G.R.). Elijah Lyon in 1760 was surveyor of highways in Woodstock.
