In Truxton, N. Y., Jan. 1st, Elias Irish, in the 71st year of his age. The subject of this notice in early life embraced the Sabbath and united with the church in Hopkinton, R. I. In 1815 he removed to the place of his late residence, and subsequently united with the church there. At times he seemed to enjoy much of the love of God, but at others he allowed his mind to be disquieted by the aberrations of his brethren. The impropriety of this fruit of a sentiment, so common in many of our churches, he saw and depreciated in the strongest terms during his last illness, and died in the assurance of peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
