- ↑ The age at death tells us that Eleazer was born 1698.
Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, p. 3:1429, says he was son of Eleazer Ball and his second wife Sarah Meriam. This Eleazer died Nov 1698 (age 48, his wife then age 44) when Deacon Eleazer would have been very young. No such recorded birth is found. Cutter does not explain his assertion. Source:White, Almira Larkin. Ancestry of John Barber White and His Descendants, p. 168, covers the family of this proposed Eleazer Ball and does not show Deacon Eleazer Ball in this family, and since one child is listed on the strength of being "mentioned in her father's will", it seems probable therefore, that Deacon Eleazer Ball does not belong to this family.
The only birth recorded for Eleazer Ball in Concord in 1698 is in the family Family:John Ball and Hannah Rugg (1) on 14 Sep 1698. There is no documented connection but this seems a better fit. This is the arrangement presented in Source:Warren, Frank D. Descendants of John Ball, Watertown, Massachusetts, 1630-1635, p. 3, but no evidence is given.
