Rev John Nesbit McCain, in his 1886 letter to a nephew in Pine Bluff, AR, wrote "..my grandpa's only sister, the wife of Robert Ramsey, settled on the Caney Fork of the Cumberland River (in Tennessee)." John Stewart McCain, in his 1904 letter to a cousin in Lake Co., FL, wrote "Ellen, or Nelley, married a Clark, had no children, both died in Kershaw Co., SC." Robert Ney McNeely, in his brief history of the McCain family, written ca 1915, wrote "Eleanor McCain married Joseph Clark, and is the ancestor of the Clarks in Lancaster Co., SC • Story: 16 Eleanor supposedly married Robert Ramsey and moved west to Tennessee. |
