Living in Paris, ME at 1870 census. In Turner, Maine at 1890 Veterans Schedule. In Greene at 1900. In Lewiston at 1910. Civil War Pension application says he was 5'7", dark complexion, with blue eyes and brown hair. Cause of death: Tuberculosis. 22 August 1861 enlisted as a Private in Company K, 7th Regiment, Maine Volunteer Infantry. Discharged at Washington, D.C. 20 Ocotber 1862. 20 July 1863 enlisted in 11 Regiment Maine Infantry at Augusta. A Private, wounded at Deep Run, VA 16 August 1864. Deserted 04 August 1865 at Richmond. Claimed to be "unfit for manual labor" 28 June 1912 in Declaration for Pension.

Listed in 1910 Lewiston Directory as retired, living at 10 High Street.
