Obituary

Eileen Leona "Sis" Roberts, age 95 of Uhrichsville, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016 in Hilliard Assisted Living & Memory Center following a period of declining health. A daughter of the late Ray A. and Emma E. (Carlisle) Harmon, Eileen was born at Goshen, Ohio Feb. 24, 1921. She was a graduate of Midvale High School and wed Marion A. Roberts. Together the couple raised two daughters and shared in 60 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2000. Eileen was employed by General Electric at Dover for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1987. She was a lifelong member of Community of Christ Church at New Philadelphia and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Snowden of Columbus and Mary Jane (Rhett) Ross of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Heather (Devin) McCaslin, Holly Snowden, Cynthia (Elliott) Zenick, and Diana Ross; her great-grandchildren, Declan and Molly McCaslin, Joseph, Joshua, and Michael Zenick; her brothers, Kenneth Harmon of San Antonio, Texas, and Ronald Harmon of LaGrange, Ohio as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by a brother Ray Harmon and two sisters, Mavis Lindsay and Evelyn Sanford. A special thank you is extended to Randy and Nan Lindsay, Jerry and Donna Cole, and Rene Cologie who offered their assistance and generous acts of kindness to Eileen through the years. The family will greet guests Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Mr. Dale Gowins will lead a service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home's chapel with burial to follow in the Evergreen Burial Park. All are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home, following services. Memorial contributions may be made to Community of Christ Church, 515 Church Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
