He graduated from Stanley, WI. High School in 1907, receiving a St. Olaf scholarship. He received the Nelson-Talla scholarship while at St. Olaf and graduated from that college in 1911. He attended Madison Short course, 1912-13. He was president, Board of Education, Stanley, WI., 1918-20, mayor of Stanley, 1926-28. Taught Sunday School over twenty five years and was Sunday School superintendent, 1928-37, Chairman of Church Council, 1940-41. Has been merchant and salesman. He served on the Moon Memorial Library Board, Stanley, Wisconsin from 1942-76. He was a member of the Chippewa County Board of Supervisors from 1945-76 and was chairman from 1966-72.
