Ed Boomhower came to visit us in Bennington at Carrigan Lane during WWII. I remember him being in a sailor suit. He was a big hit with us kids because he brought a large container of lollipops which our mother let us each have one and then put the rest on a high shelf in the kitchen to be doled out later. After the war he and his family, who were living in CT, came to visit us. His wife was from Ireland and spoke with an Irish brogue. Eventually they moved to the west coast (apparently Santa Ana where dau Colleen was born) and we lost touch with them, only to reconnect through the study of Boomhower genealogy. According to Ed Boomhower, Jr. his father died of a heart attack at age 63 (62?).
