Mining Engineer, Cambria Iron Co., 1880-1; Professor Mining Engineering and Geology, Lehigh University, 1881-1902; Lecturer on Mining and Geology, Lehigh University, 1962-4; member American Institute Mining Engineers; original fellow Geological Society of America, fellow American Association Advancement of Science, member American Philosophical Society; author "Manual of Lithology," "Vigintennial Record of 1868," Phillips Academy, "Coal and Metal Miners' Pocket Book."
